Animal Taming
Animal Taming is a town macro with an unusually good payoff: patience, soft words, and eventually something wild decides to stay. A tamed companion follows at your heel and lends you its own particular talent while it does. What answers your call, and how often, is up to the creatures themselves — and finding out is most of the point.
How a companion works
- Out with you at once
- One
- Swapped at
- Any Stable Master
- Bonded at level
- 3
- Grows to level
- 10
- Traded or sold
- Never
An Animal Tackle sewn from rarer Leather adds Wild Call while it is active: more creatures answer your taming, from +4% in Dull Leather to +40% in Black Leather. It wears through no slower than a plain one. See Tailoring for the full list.
A companion is at risk until it Bonds at level 3 — die with an unbonded one out and it flees for good. Bonded, it stays with you through anything, and keeps growing to 10.
Who is out there
Every creature that can be tamed, by name. What each one does for you, how much skill it takes to find, and how often it appears are all deliberately left out — finding that out is the skill.
