Harvesting

Fishing

Fishing is the gentlest harvesting skill and the only one you can do in almost every town. The catch feeds Cooking, which feeds you — and a fisher who keeps at it will eventually pull up a message in a bottle, which is a treasure map by another name.

How you train it Start Fishing anywhere with water. It runs on the same fourteen-second cadence as the other gathering skills.
What you need An active fishing pole, and a fishing spot — most towns have one.

Raw fish restores almost nothing. Cooking is a short skill and turns the same catch into something worth eating.

Fish Bobbers

Any catch at all can turn one up — a minnow is as good a chance as an Agafish. Right-click a bobber to unlock it for good, then wear it under Options. Every angler at the water sees the float on your line, which is rather the point of the Ultra Rares. Fishing while you are logged out counts exactly the same.

A float you already own can still come up on the line. Keep the spare — it is an ordinary item, and another angler still hunting that one will want it.
